CAST is a free, self-guided tour featuring over 150 artists whom the public can meet in their studios to see, learn about, and purchase their work. Participating artists include: Maren Conrad (mixed media); Nathan Cordero (mixed media); Micah Crandall-Bear (painting); Chris Duccini (painting); Marc Foster (functional art and sculpture); David Lobenberg (painting); Donald Satterlee (photography); John Tarahteeff (painting); Leslie Toms (painting); Peter Vandenberg (ceramic); Margaret Woodcock (mixed media).

    New this year:
-Open Reel: A juried award recognizing the vibrant, Sacramento independent film community who otherwise do not have an opportunity to showcase their work. The three minute “shorts” submissions will be shown at the Crest Theatre, Thurs, Sept 8 to kick-off the weekend events. All submissions will also be shown at 1020 16th Street throughout the weekend.
-Open Interactive: A hands-on art workshop that will immerse visitors in the process of abstract painting. Northern California artist, Lisa Fernald Barker, leads participants to experiment with painting techniques, such as throwing paint like Jackson Pollock or applying color combinations and brush strokes like Richard Diebenkorn, to create their own abstract expressionist work.
-Artists from outside the 4 mile radius were invited to participate. Their work can be viewed at various locations around Sacramento; as detailed on the tour map.
