Santa Parade

at Sacramento City Hall

The Santa Parade has a spirit of its own, embodied by the many wonderful parade entrants--from tuneful marching bands to high-stepping horses, colorful clowns to vintage vehicles, skillful twirlers to dazzling floats. The crowd of spectators greets the passing parade with enthusiastic approval. Their smiles and cheers are the perfect expression of the holidays--and a big part of the Santa Parade spirit.

The parade’s route that passes City Hall, Cesar Chavez Plaza, Downtown Plaza, and the Downtown Ice Rink proved very successful, with extremely high attendance in each of the years since. The parade steps off at 10am from the corner of 9th and I Streets (in front of City Hall), travels east on I Street (past City Hall) to 13th Street, south on 13th alongside the Convention Center, west on L Street, and north on 7th Street, disbanding just by the Downtown Ice Rink at 7th and K Streets. The parade is a hometown tradition for all, spectators and participants alike.
