The CIC Presents: Media Mentoring: A Screening of Miss Representation
January 26, 2012
Add Review/Comment
In one week American teenagers spend 31 hours watching TV, 17 hours listening to music, 3 hours watching movies, 4 hours reading magazines, 10 hours online. That’s 10 hours and 45 minutes of media consumption a day.
This documentary brings a much needed discussion to the foreground on how media affects our kids and young adults. Please come enjoy a mixer and rub elbows with Sacramento's filmmakers, media professionals, and Glitterati. The film screens at 7pm with a discussion panel following immediately after. The panel will focus on media literacy and how to get distribution without misrepresentation.
This event is being provided by Cow Town Film Productions for the Capitol Indie Collective to kick off the "Media Mentoring" series, an education forum for artists and those interested in media. The Capitol Indie Collective is a non-profit and can continue to host this program monthly through your generosity.
