Michelangelo's Restaurant

Michelangelo's is an Italian-style trattoria located just off main-stream J Street. In traditional Italian style, the walls are murals from local artists, and floors are splatterd with paint. The dishes are multi-colored, food is fresh and hearty, and service is casually elegant. The menu is styled after our grandmother's and great-grandmother's recipes and nightly specials feature a California flare on Italian rustic. Chicken Piccata is a house favorite, the 10oz Meatball is sure to satisfy any hunger, and ask anyone about the "can't miss" Ravioli's. On special nights, look for Lauren's handmade pasta in all delectable styles, including Lasagna (available to order online).

Michelangelo's Wine List offers a selection of Italian wines and represents California's diversity. With everything from a simple Chianti to a decadent Brunello di Montalcino, a spicy Zin, or crisp Pinot Grigio, you're sure to find the perfect wine to compliment your meal. Michelangelo's also features Retail Wine, allowing you to enjoy your favorite wine at home.

Michelangelo's also features cocktails with a select few liquors. Try the signature Michelpolitan or a GlenMorangie 12year on the rocks or finish off the night with a traditional Sambuca or Grappa.

Weather permitting, the patio is an ideal place for dining "al fresco" surrounded by flowers and fresh herbs in the sculpture garden. There is a semi-private party room that can seat up to 15 people comfortably for parties. The Barton Gallery next door is available for catered functions--formal dinners to fundraising appetizers--with local artwork and Gregory Barton's Bronze sculptures that are sure to spark a conversation.

The cozy neighborhood feel suits everyone from families and local walk-ins to season theatre-goers. The location is ideal for dinner before you hit the town, being only minutes from the Sacramento Ballet, the Community Center Theater, Sacramento Theatre Company, and local bars and clubs. Reservations are recommended on weekends and theatre nights.
