Dia de los Muertos is a time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed on in a joyful and vibrant celebration. The dead are only here for a few days, so you must make the most of it!

Spirits of the Season

Join Atrium for a group art exhibition that merges the eerie charm of Halloween with the rich traditions of Day of the Dead. Honor those who have passed at the community altar. Guests are welcome to bring photographs or write names and memories on materials provided.
The Language of Flowers

The Language of Flowers is an urban Chicano adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. This play combines Dia de los Muertos with Romeo and Juliet and explores love and cultural identity against the backdrop of the Latino immigrant experience.

Natural Remembrance: A Sugar Skull Workshop

Celebrate the season of All Souls Day, Día de los Muertos, by joining artist Stan Padilla in the heritage arts process of making an ancestral sugar skull. This hands-on approach is integrated with traditional myths, stories, and customs of the celebration.

Celebrate Hispanic heritage by joining Fleet Feet for the Día de los Miles 5K and kids’ fun runs! The event features a mercado showcasing the talents of local Latino artists. Día De Los Miles is a benefit event that supports the Latino Center of Art and Culture.

Old Sacramento will come alive with the vibrant colors, music, and ancient traditions of Dia de los Muertos at the 13th annual Souls of the City Festival.

The Sacramento Children’s Museum invites the community to join them for an evening event over two days to explore the cultural practices and traditions surrounding Dia de los Muertos.
El Panteón de Sacramento

El Panteón is not only a place of remembrance, but a joyous celebration of our loved ones. This three-day event features dancing, music, and colorful ofrendas adorned with sugar skulls, food and drink, flowers, and personal mementos.
